Saturday’s racing is at Seoul with 10-races from 10:35 to 17:55. Here are the previews:
Seoul Race 1: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million
(8) BLUE ROSE has a 2nd and a 3rd from two starts so far, both over this distance and both times settling handy and running on. Third-up he can be peaking and he can win here. (10) PARKA RACER came from well off the pace to run 3rd on debut over 1300M on September 19th. He can have come on for that run, the wide draw should be no problem, and he can be a danger today. (11) GEOLJAK RUBY’s best performance to date was on debut when she finished 2nd of nine over 1000M. She has raced fairly for 6th and 5th in her latest two and should be aiming to go better today. (3) CITY OF DREAM and (5) BOLSTER are others who can have at least placing claims.

Seoul Race 2: Class 6 (1400M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million
(1) AREUMDAUN BIT has been knocking on the door for a while and has a 2nd and a 4th place from her latest two, both over this distance and both times coming from off the pace. There isn’t much speed in this race so she can be a little further forward earlier today and she has as good a chance as any. (11) CHEONSANGGEOMNYONG has got a long way back in both his starts so far but has run on pleasingly enough for 4th and 5th. Maia gets on for the first time and third-up he can be nice and fit. (6) TONNERRE DOS was 3rd over the minimum distance two starts back but has been finishing off his races well and may appreciate the step up in trip today. (5) SONGDANG JILJU and (8) YEONGWONHAN LUCEA among other chances.

Seoul Race 3: Class 6 (1000M) Special Weight A / KRW 45 Million
Juvenile maidens with six of the ten racing for the first time. The exposed form isn’t great, so we’ll take a chance on a newcomer and (6) FOREVER RUN. He settled midfield in his trial, running on to finish 4th in a fair time and he may not need to improve too much from that to win here. Among the aforementioned exposed form, (8) CUPID CHEONGUNG has the best. After an ordinary trial, he didn’t do much wrong when 5th of eleven on debut over 1200M on September 19th and can make some progress here. (7) GETTYSBURG was slow away on debut over this distance but finished off well enough. He previously led his trial and if he can address that start, he can get much closer today. (2) GOLDEN RISING and newcomer (5) ARIRANG STAR are the others to consider.

Seoul Race 4: Class 6 (1700M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million
(6) CRUSH GIRL has two 4th places and a 2nd from three starts so far, up to 1400M. Luis rode her to her best finish, and he returns to the ride today and the step up to two turns may well suit. (4) LEADERS PARTNER took a few goes to figure things out, but he has definitely taken to two turns with a 3rd and a 2nd in his two tries over this trip so far. He likes to settle back and run on and he can be a danger late here. (5) NURI EUTTEUM led for most of the way around on his way to a best to date 2nd place over this distance on September 20th and he can lead again here in a race where there is no obvious speed. (2) SMART GRAND and (9) ÉCLAIR WIND are among others who can compete for at least the places.

Seoul Race 5: Class 5 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million
(7) GWANAKSAN WINDY was a ten-length winner on debut before taking his chance in the Listed Gwacheon Mayor’s for juveniles on September 13th over 1200M where he showed on pace but ultimately faded. Back in much more amenable company today, he can return to winning ways. (9) TUN TEJA didn’t do much on debut over 1000M at the end of August, but she was a good winner at start two over 1200M two weeks later. She comes up in class but carries such a light weight that she should be competitive again. (5) HAKSAN TAEPUNG won at this class and distance in August and while he disappointed on his return on September 13th, he draws better today and is worth another chance. (4) COMPLETE FUTURE and (2) HIDDEN DIA are the best of a limited rest.

Seoul Race 6: Class 5 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million
Fillies (and one mare) only here. (7) WHIZ CROWN was a winner on debut over 1000M and was then a desperately close 2nd behind Haksan Taepung (who was due to go around in race 5) over 1200M on August 23rd. The additional furlong can suit today. (4) HANAM LASER was an all the way winner at this class and distance on September 19th when he was a 20/1 chance despite having run a good 3rd in his previous outing at the end of October. The 1400M seems to be his go and with an apprentice claiming 4kg, his weight stays the same. He won’t be 20/1 this time. (8) POWER MAGIC got his maiden win in July and has since run 2nd and 3rd in two subsequent efforts. He’ll be on pace and should be there or thereabouts again. (2) LAVITA and (3) MIGHTY CAP the best of the rest.

Seoul Race 7: Class 4 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million
(5) PASA QUEEN has been knocking on the door of a second win with two 2nd places and two 3rd places from her latest four. If anything, she has been knocking too hard, as she has to come up in class here, but she is down 2kg in weight, Franco gets on for the first time, and back at the distance where she picked up her maiden victory, she can win here. (9) FLASH JUDE is up in class following a narrow win over 1300M on August 8th, coming from off the pace. She’s up in class but comes down 2kg in weight and she can be competitive at this level. (3) GEOSEN PUNCH was a winner at this class and distance on September 6th, settling handy and running on. He is up 3kg in weight but can be in the mix again. (8) BEST SECRET struggled in a strong race over 1200M on international weekend but was a very smart winner at class 5 over that distance prior and can be close here. (7) CHANG CHANG SOCKS is better than his latest two outings.

Seoul Race 8: Class 4 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million
(11) NINJA TIGER has a 4th and two 2nd places in three tries at this class, most recently over a mile on September 13th. She continues under a light weight and while she has the challenge of the widest gate, she has every chance. (2) FIVE STAR has done just about everything short of winning, racking up five runner-up finishes along the way, including his latest at this class and distance on August 30th. He is up 3kg on that, but he will surely be close again. (3) RYAN BEAT won over 1700M two outings back before finishing 4th having led as favourite on his first try at this class and distance on September 13th. He looks to have plenty of potential and can go better today. (9) TINA K and (10) CHEONG WOL among plenty of other placing chances.

Seoul Race 9: Class 3 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million
(9) CHIEF STAR races for the first time since June and since moving to Moon Se-young’s new stable. As ever, the start will be key with her but there’s no doubting her ability and she looked well when not asked to do a whole lot in a trial at the start of this month. (4) NAMSAN BELT has been 2nd in both her latest two, most recently in a strong Trophy race over this distance on September 5th when handy and going very close. It would be no surprise if she went one better today. (1) RUN WILD came from off the pace to score at this class and distance on September 12th. He is up 3kg in weight, but a repeat is not to be dismissed. (2) CHEONMAHORYEONG and another last start winner, (10) ELDORADO HAENAM, others to consider.

Seoul Race 10: Class 2 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 90 Million
(2) CONCORD BLUE was an also-ran in the Korean Derby but as been in fine form since with two wins and two 2nd places, most recently at this class over 1200M on September 12th. He draws nicely and he will be a short price to win this. (9) ELDORADO NOLBU beat several of today’s rivals on his way to 2nd place in a Trophy race over this distance on September 5th. He has his fair share of weight to carry again but he can add to his ten runner-up finishes. (10) SMILING PRINCE comes up in class following a win and a 2nd place from his latest two, both over this distance. He gets a big 5kg weight drop which should allow him to be competitive here. (5) MORE THAN JOKE and (4) MARU JANGGUN others who can be in the finish.
