Racing returns from its one-week Chuseok hiatus on Friday with a 9-race card at Busan from 11:15 to 17:55. Here are the previews:

Busan Race 1: Class 6 (1000M) Special Weight A / KRW 45 Million
(1) WINNING WILD has trialled once for a fourth on August 13 when on pace throughout. Seo Seung-un rides for trainer Choi Ki-hong and owner Choi Sang-il so it is a powerful trio that combine with this Bayern filly and she will go close. She was ridden by Franco da Silva in her heat who rides (11) RED DEVILS which has trialled once for a victory on August 27 when leading for most of the way to score by a narrow margin. The highest draw does not do him any favours, but he is still a top chance of coming out and following up his trial victory with a win on his race debut. (5) FLEX TEUKGEUP has trialled once for a third a month ago, when similarly on speed throughout, whilst (8) PRESS QUEEN made up some ground to run third in her hit out at the end of August, she was however beaten eighteen-and-a-half lengths by the winner. (6) SKY BOLT was eighth of ten beaten twenty-lengths in his only heat but from the Thomas Gillespie stable should not be totally disregarded with (3) CUPID GOLD next best following an on pace fourth in her trial three weeks ago.
| Selections | (1) Winning Wild (11) Red Devils (5) Flex Teukgeup (8) Press Queen |
| Next Best | 6, 3 |
| Fast Start | 1, 3, 5, 11 |
Busan Race 2: Class 4 (1000M) Special Weight A / KRW 75 Million
(5) UNCLE PARK has raced twice for a third to the impressive Supex World on debut followed by a narrow second three weeks ago when attempting to lead throughout. Considering he raced without shoes on both forelegs in that race, after casting a plate on the near fore on the way to the post the decision was made to remove his off fore shoe, it was quite a big run and in the colours of Roshe the Uncle Chuck colt can go close for Seo Seung-un and Baik Kwang-yeol and will likely be very short. (4) DAEHAN KING has trialled once for a one-and-a-half length win on September 10 and under David Breux this Aloha West debutante can be expected to give this a real shake. (3) HONOUR SPECIAL was the one that was that one-and-a-half length in arrears of Daehan King in that trial three weeks ago and should not be too far away again whilst his stablemate (6) WISDOM PICK is the mount of Franco da Silva and the best of his three trials was his most recent when finishing fourth to some experienced customers. The others need to improve with (7) PERFECT LINE the most likely to do that and he rates ahead of (2) TOHAMSAN HONOR.
| Selections | (5) Uncle Park (4) Daehan King (3) Honour Special (6) Wisdom Pick |
| Next Best | 7, 2 |
| Fast Start | 3, 4, 5, 7 |
Busan Race 3: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million
(11) JEONGMUNKEUNDAEBAG has trialled once for a front-running victory on September 17, and he looked mightily impressive in that score so despite the widest gate he should very much make his presence felt for Franco da Silva and Bart Rice. (1) WILD JUMP ran her race before it began back on debut in February when getting upset in the stalls and subsequently dropping out after leading. She again attempted to lead throughout at her second start back in July and did better finishing third and for the Seo Seung-un, Choi Ki-hong, Choi Sang-il combination should not be dismissed. (2) CLUTCH TIME did not do much in his solitary trial on August 27, but he comes from the Thomas Gillespie yard so he should be kept safe under Masa Tanaka. (8) OASIS SONG is a first career ride for Hong Hwan-woong and going on his second run is not hopeless with (7) NUMBER ONE PLAY, which has trialled once for a fourth, next best over the Moon Hyeon-cheol trained (9) BREEDO GREEN which failed on debut as a 2.5 favourite only beating one home but should not be completely forgotten.
| Selections | (11) Jeongmunkeundaebag (1) Wild Jump (2) Clutch Time (8) Oasis Song |
| Next Best | 7, 9 |
| Fast Start | 1, 3, 4, 8, 9, 11 |
Busan Race 4: Class 6 (1400M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million
(5) GLOBAL TOP TIER has not been far away in two of his three starts to date finishing behind some decent types of his own two-year-old age group and rates as a strong chance to go a few places better. (1) DOCTOR ATE is another juvenile who finishes off his races well and will be doing his best work late. The draw may necessarily not be to his advantage but if he sees daylight expect him to be running home hard going on what we have seen from him in three runs so far. (6) VIRAL HIT has David Breux aboard and has finished in the top four in three of his past four runs whilst (2) GEUMBIT has improved with experience and is not the worst. (9) DYNAMIC LEMON was much better last start and Franco da Silva rides with (8) DREAM BLUE best of the rest.
| Selections | (5) Global Top Tier (1) Doctor Ate (6) Viral Hit (2) Geumbit |
| Next Best | 9, 8 |
| Fast Start | 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 9 |
Busan Race 5: Class 6 (1300M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million
(5) YEONGGWANGUI HOPE ran a much better race at his second start when just being caught late and running fifth and can go close if putting in a similar performance in this. (8) SIERRA GOLD made up good ground from last to run midfield on his debut in May but after receiving kickback at his second start last month finished towards the rear. He did however finish only three-lengths behind Infinite Winner, which is subsequently unbeaten from two starts, in a trial in between those two starts and that form looks good. (10) UNION FLASH has perhaps done the least wrong having had the one run for a second to an impressive winner although (3) TWOTWO SPACE can be put into that category also having had two runs for a fourth on each occasion. (4) SUPER WEEK is prepared by Moon Hyeon-cheol and is perhaps improving and rates next over (11) OASIS SHACKLE.
| Selections | (5) Yeonggwangui Hope (8) Sierra Gold (10) Union Flash (3) Twotwo Space |
| Next Best | 4, 11 |
| Fast Start | 1, 4, 5, 8, 10, 11 |
Busan Race 6: Class 5 (1300M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million
(4) ACE CROW has had the two starts for two second places beaten one-and-a-half lengths and a head when attempting to lead throughout each time. Those two runner-up finishes bring her up to one-win level for the first time, but this Choi Ki-hong prepared juvenile filly can break her duck in this with Seo Seung-un riding for the first time and she will start as the popular pick. (5) WIDAEHAN HEART led throughout when winning her maiden comfortably by six-lengths at the end of May over this distance before a third and a ninth from two runs to date at this class. She has never got into the race at any stage of those two efforts and with a better start can go close. (8) BULBIT YEONGMA comes off a career worst run last start result wise, but it was not that bad in the scheme of things, so she rates as a decent place chance. (9) THEMIS rises four kilograms and eight pounds on her last start course, distance, and grade victory but rates next over (11) WANNABE WITH YOU and (10) QUEEN RACE.
| Selections | (4) Ace Crow (5) Widaehan Heart (8) Bulbit Yeongma (9) Themis |
| Next Best | 11, 10 |
| Fast Start | 3, 4, 5, 6, 9, 11 |
Busan Race 7: Class 4 (1600M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million
(5) LEGEND HIT ran a fine race to come from well back to run a one-and-a-quarter length third over a trip shorter than ideal when resuming at the end of August. That followed runs in each of the three Korean Triple Crown legs with his best effort in that series being a fine sixth in the KRA Cup Mile (Korean 2000 Guineas). The step up in distance will suit and he will be hard to stop. (8) O.K. BABY is perhaps the enthralling runner of the field having won half of his six starts, those victories have come from his past four, and last start was the easiest of those wins as he scored by eight-lengths from the front. He stays at this grade, so he comes up four kilograms as that victory saw the handicappers put him up twelve pounds, but he will surely go close with Masa Tanaka riding for the first time and he will probably start favourite. (7) WINNING TREE comes up to this level for the first time following two Class 5 victories from his past three where he has led for most of the way each time and creates interest. The Thomas Gillespie trained Franco da Silva ridden (9) KING BLACK is another that comes up to this class for the first time and rates next over (10) FLY TO THE MOON and (11) SUCCESS COW, who definitely are not hopeless, with (6) BUGYEONG TRIPLE next best over (1) PORT MORE, who gets the draw to lead if he does not miss the break.
| Selections | (5) Legend Hit (8) O.K. Baby (7) Winning Tree (9) King Black |
| Next Best | 10, 11 |
| Fast Start | 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 10 |
Busan Race 8: Class 5 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million
(10) MOST WANTED attempted to lead throughout last start and went down fighting finishing second beaten a half-length behind an ok type. He gets three kilograms taken off his back in this thanks to an apprentice claim from Son Gyeong-min and can give a bold sight once more, even though this distance is the furthest he has gone. (4) ONE PLUS ONE led from start to finish to break his duck by four-lengths at the sixth time of asking last start. The extra furlong should not hurt, and he can give a good sight. (2) DORAON SAMSON is naught from twenty-eight remarkably but has finished in the minor placings in each of his last six starts, five of those being third places. He can go close again whilst (1) WORLD TREE, (11) NAMHAE MAGIC and (9) BEAT BOY are all each-way chances along with (8) BEOLMAUI GEOIN and (5) CHAMPUI SIDAE.
| Selections | (10) Most Wanted (4) One Plus One (2) Doraon Samson (1) World Tree |
| Next Best | 11, 9 |
| Fast Start | 1, 2, 4, 9, 10 |
Busan Race 9: Class 3 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million
(10) POWERFUL BATTLE was an incredibly impressive winner from the top over the course and distance at Class 4 last start with a nine-length victory. Jo In-kwon once again rides this Moon Hyeon-cheol trained three-year-old gelding and whilst this is another test for him, he is only getting better and can take the rise to Class 3 in his stride. The Thomas Gillespie trained (2) CHAMP SONNY rarely runs a bad race and chased home a smart winner over the course, distance, and grade last time. It would not be a surprise if this race turned out to be a similar story for him, however. (4) JANGGO MAN is another which comes up to this class for the first time following a narrow victory over the course and distance at the end of August. He has not done much wrong and is smart on his day and should not be denied a chance. (3) JULGEOUN DONGHANG failed as favourite last start when running at Yeongcheon but her last run at this venue saw her beat some smart fillies comfortably, including a Group Three winner, whilst (8) SENSATIONAL WIN is far from the worst and (5) TANTAN DAERO is a place bet if at value for that particular bet type.
| Selections | (10) Powerful Battle (2) Champ Sonny (4) Janggo Man (3) Julgeoun Donghang |
| Next Best | 8, 5 |
| Fast Start | 2, 3, 4, 8, 10 |
