Seoul Race 1: Class 6 (1000M) Special Weight A / KRW 45 Million

(8) ROYAL HOPE K was third in his one and only trial on May 21 and this son of Gaon Champ prepared by Moon Byeong-ki should go close under Seo Seung-un. (7) URIUI GIPPEUM is a To Honor And Serve filly that was third in her trial on May 14 after leading and she finished well ahead of (3) BEAT STAR who subsequently trialled again on May 21 and led throughout to score by nine-lengths. Both must be given the utmost of respect. (11) LEGEND MONSTER is a stablemate of Uriui Gippeum and under CC Wong rates next over (6) POWERFUL MR. and the Luigi Riccardi trained (2) K SOCKS. (5) GRAND POKPUNG should not be denied a chance either.

Selections(8) Royal Hope K (7) Uriui Gippeum (3) Beat Star (11) Legend Monster

Seoul Race 2: Class 6 (1300M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

(2) BIBA CHARM produced a good effort when first-up for ten months on June 13 coming from well back to run third. She can improve from that run and can go a few places better. (11) QUEENS TIGER ran well on debut similarly coming from well back and with some luck from the draw can go close. (1) WHITE JACKPOT was down the track on his debut but may be able to get an enjoyable time in front in a race where it is hard to work out where the early speed will come from. The extra 100M will not hurt (3) TOO BIRD HIT going on her debut run and she rates next over (4) GEOLJAK CROWN and (7) BULGEUN YEOJEONSA.

Selections(2) Biba Charm (11) Queens Tiger (1) White Jackpot (3) Too Bird Hit

Seoul Race 3: Class 6 (1400M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

(11) KING SPICY has been the most consistent of these except for his debut run in September. Despite the wide draw he strikes a winnable race following his last start third place and can score. (1) THE QUEEN ROSE also comes off the best result of her career with a third at the beginning of this month when leading for most of the way. She can go close if able to hold her own from the inside which she should. (8) AREUMDAUN BIT has been close at her last two runs and rates next over (10) JISAN FOREVER, a debutante by Chrysolite, (4) ILGEUP BISUL and (2) SAMJEONG BLUE.

Seoul Race 4: Class 5 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

(4) ARION QUEEN CAR has her quirks but also has ability and if she can be on her best behaviour she should be able to go close to recording her second victory. She almost refused to race when resuming from a two-month ban, for refusing to race, in March before picking up late for third and then chased home a smart horse last start. If she can learn how to be a racehorse she does have a future. (11) NUNI OLKKAYO is another smart enough type on his day that resumed with a second a month ago at this level beaten a neck. He was considered good enough to be close in the market to subsequent Derby winner Hwang Geum Eo Jang when taking him on in the winter and rates highly. (2) MONEY MOVE has done little wrong in three starts and broke through most recently. (6) STUNNING CALIBER was a thirteen-length winner of his maiden over course and distance last start and must be respected as should (7) WONPYEONG GANGJA, under Seo Seung-un, and (8) BREEDO CALEY in a decent race for the grade.

Seoul Race 5: Class 5 / Horse Racing Crown Prince Moon Se-young’s Retirement Commemorative Race / (1700M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

(9) FLYING CONCORD steps up big in trip but has chased home some good winners in three runs this preparation and if he can run the trip, he will go close. (7) FIVE STAR has done little wrong in eight starts to date and with Seo Seung-un on he could go one better on his last three starts where he has finished second each time. (4) LUCKY JOY was a four-length course and distance maiden winner two back before finishing a four-length second at his first run at this grade last start. (11) FIGHTER is good enough for this on his day and rates next over last start neck course and distance maiden winner (10) BEOLGYO ALADDIN and (1) CUPID COMMAND.

Seoul Race 6: Class 4 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(4) G FLEX makes his first run since going down to Busan to compete in the Group Two KRA Cup Mile (Korean 2000 Guineas). He potentially did not run the mile out and finished in the second half of the field but had beaten the triple subsequent winner Master Kwaigon prior so that form clearly makes him the top choice. (2) EVER GLORY won her first two starts before knocking up late last time when only sixth. It will be interesting to see if she can bounce back. (5) J ONE POWER comes up in grade but should be given a chance and (9) ANYANGBITCHUISOKDO is obviously more than good enough to win this as she finished second in the Rookie Stakes (Seoul) last year to Chief Star. She was having her second run of this preparation last start when winning by two-and-a-half lengths over course and distance one class below this. (6) GLOBAL TIME resumes since he bled when last seen in November and rates over (1) BROWN MAMMA.

Seoul Race 7: Class 3 (1600M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

(6) GENERAL WIND has been an impressive front-running winner in two of his past four starts with the other two runs yielding ninth and twelfth places in the KRA Cup Mile (Korean 2000 Guineas) and Minister’s Cup. He carries only fifty-two and a half kilograms in this which will make him extremely hard to beat. The Luigi Riccardi trained (2) MASTER KWAIGON is the in-form runner and comes into this off three brilliant victories. However, he carries five kilograms more than what he did when winning by ten-lengths over course, distance, and grade a month ago and that is also five kilograms more than what General Wind will carry. (7) K POWERFUL has eleven-lengths to find with (2) MASTER KWAIGON from that race but he in turn comes down four-and-a-half kilograms so with a huge weight swing he should not be discounted. (8) SONGDANG HWANGTAEJA rates next over (5) BEOLGYOUI STAR and (3) EUNBIT DOLPUNG.

Seoul Race 8: Class 4 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(6) CLUTCH MAGIC will prove hard to beat after being far from disgraced when competing in the Minister’s Cup last start where he finished fifth after leading. He had won two in a row prior to competing in that classic and should return to the winners list for Johan Victoire and Luigi Riccardi. (7) SHINING ROAD beat Pas de Cheval four runs back and has been fifth, second and sixth in three subsequent runs. Seo Seung-un rides (5) BLUE SUN for the first time and he has never missed the top five in nine runs so he should be around the mark. (8) GLOBAL COMPUTING rates next whilst it is worth keeping an eye on the Tony Castanheira prepared (11) EAST BEACH which went like a rocket last start when blinked the first time. (4) POWER ETCHED is best of the rest.

Seoul Race 9: Class 2 (2000M) Handicap / KRW 90 Million

(8) TAEPYEONG HERO was ahead of a lot of these horses last start when finishing third at Listed level over the course and distance. Prior to that he had had placings behind Vet Captain and Oneuldo Smile and based on these three recent runs he looks the one to beat in a race where close to everything could win. (9) DAESEONG STAR was favourite for that black type contest last month but could only manage a twelve-and-a-half length fifth. However, he had won two of his previous three and they were over the course, distance, and grade and he gets a two-kilogram apprentice claim from Kwon Jung-seok which brings his weight down to fifty-eight kilograms. (10) ECLAIR POWER was second in a Listed race last September and if he is anywhere near his best first-up he can go close. (11) STUNNING MONEY has chased home the impressive G B Vault at each of his last two and cannot be discarded on that form. (6) TRAUM KING is a chance as well as (5) ZETTA MASTER on the basis that he does not give himself too much to do. (1) BROWN GOLD and (2) EUNPA SARANG should not be discounted either.

Seoul Race 10: Class 3 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

(7) NAMSAN BELT makes her first outing of the year following a one-length trial victory on June 11 over Best Race which reads as excellent form. She beat My Empire when winning on her debut last season so the ability is there and she can go close. (3) ROOFTOP is a bit hard to catch as his best has seen him beat Geudaemaniddamyeon but he has been only ok at this level in each of his last two runs. His one previous run at 1400M saw him beaten a long way at Listed grade behind Roshe but he could very well win this for fun and Woo In-cheol rides for the first time claiming two-kilograms. The two three-year-old’s do look the ones to beat with the next best being the likes of (1) BS STORM, (2) SMILING PRINCE, (11) HERO SOCKS and (6) BONGHWA STAY.
