Ace Korea Set For Dubai Carnival Opening Night

Ace Korea will become the first member of the Korean stable at the 2019 Dubai World Cup Carnival to make his Meydan racing debut. Peter Wolsley’s colt lines up in the G3 Dubawi Stakes over 1200, race 4 on Thursday’s opening night card.

Ace Korea faces just six rivals but it is is a tough set of opponents and includes last start course and distance winner and highest rated, Drafted.

Ace Korea will be ridden by British jockey Darryll Holland who regularly rode for trainer Wolsley when he was based at Busan. Ace Korea has reportedly settled in well to his new surroundings at Meydan where he had to pass a stalls test as a result of his sluggish start en-route to victory in the Kookje News Cup in mid-November.

That was his most recent outing so race sharpness may be an issue, but at his best, Ace Korea, 5th in the Korea Sprint last September, should have enough about him to be in the hunt for a money finish.

The race will get underway at 8:15pm local Dubai time which is 1:15am on Friday morning in Seoul.
