Pick of the action is at Seoul on Sunday where Joy Lucky (Ecton Park), who finished last year as the strongest filly in the country, kicks off her 2014 campaign in the first of co-feature races. She’ll have the likes of Full Moon Party and Magnifique for company as she drops back to 7 furlongs.

Saturday at Seoul sees plenty of up-and-comers on show. 3-year-old US imports Winning Andy (Cowboy Cal) and Hwanggeum Tap (Tiz Wonderful) finished off last year impressively and look like ones to watch this.

On the domestic front, Jangsan Horangi, Call Me Rocket, Geumbit Hwanhui and Clean Up Speed are all worth watching in their respective races on Saturday.

  1. Joy lucky proving himself as a “tough one to beat”
    Race finished just orderly..no thrilll…race.
    I liked race 11th , played trio with 2 over 1,9
So 219…but heavily favorite #2 which last race was in the 2nd class and today his first time class1 race,
    ..he hasn’t show up closing
    ability…collapsed in the mid stretch..
    Result 1-9-3-2…trio eight hundred something…

    Heck…..what a big upset..

    1. Joy Lucky looks a very good filly. Could beat the imports in some big races this year.

It’s good to see Xicar finally start to live up to her potential – I thought she was really good when she debuted but then she had so many setbacks. Now a class 2 win last time and 3rd place at class 1 today. Surprised the trio paid that much but I guess everyone had keyed the number 2.

  2. Xicar..yeah…i remember and I ‘ve got the trio when she finished 3rd as a longshot in 8 1/2furlongs race ..it was two hundred something…times.
But this time I thought initially this is not her spot…cause she didn’t raced sprint distance for long time ,so presumably lost her sprinting sense…
But she still woke up in the sprint distance….
More stronger than before when she were in the lower class leagues..after she moved up class she was trying to change her running style from early to early presser
So no words..but to say”well good girl…nicely done!
