Sunday’s racing is at Seoul (11 races from 10:35 to 17:55) and at Yeongcheon (6 races from 12:45 to 16:30). Here are the previews:
Seoul Race 1: Class 6 (1000M) Special Weight A / KRW 45 Million
Juvenile maidens. After a good trial, (5) SAMJEONG RACE was a fair 2nd on debut, striking the front briefly close to home before going down by half a length. He can come on for that run on here and go one better. (3) FIRE TIGER was less impressive in his trial but did nothing wrong on his first trip to the race, also finishing 2nd over this distance, in his case on October 3rd and just beaten a neck. The time wasn’t quick, but he draws well to be on pace here and he has every chance. (10) WILD PITCH came from a long way back to run 5th on debut on October 11th and can get closer today. (2) GWANAKSAN JUMP and (8) SLING SMILE others who should be in the mix.

Seoul Race 2: Class 6 (1300M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million
(7) RAON THE RIPON has improved across three starts so far, culminating in 2nd place over 1200M on October 4th when handy throughout and beaten just half a length. The slight step up in trip can suit and he can win this. (1) SMART GRAND has been getting closer recently with a 3rd and a 2nd from his latest two at 1400M and 1700M. Andre rode him last time and stays on today and he can sit behind the leaders and finish well. (9) PASA ACE has placed twice over this distance already and Franco climbing on for the first time catches the eye. He can be in the finish. (2) TOO BIRD HIT and (3) GRAND POKPUNG are the other main contenders.

Seoul Race 3: Class 6 (1300M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million
(10) FOREVER HIT debuted around this time last year and recorded a 3rd and 4th but then didn’t reappear until this September 5th when she finished 4th over 1300M. She improved to 2nd in a filly only maiden on October 11th, showing close to the pace throughout and third-up here she should be nice and fit and will be favourite to make her breakthrough. It’s not a strong set of opponents. (8) COMPLETE TURBO returns for the first time since finishing 5th on debut all the way back in January. He looked well enough when 3rd in an October trial and has every chance of going well first up again. (4) STAR PLAY has a 2nd on his record and overcame a slow start to run 5th last time out. That’s enough to have him in the numbers here. (5) ROAD TO PERFECT and (7) MIGHTY POINT others in the minor money hunt.

Seoul Race 4: Class 5 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million
It’s hard to go past (3) G B ACE. He got his maiden win at start three over 1200M on September 6th when on pace throughout and then finished 4th on his first try at this class on October 3rd, beaten less than four-lengths when much further back than usual. Expect him to be back on the speed today, and he should win. (5) HAKSAN SWORD needs a line through his latest when luckless and beaten early. Instead, we’ll go on his close 2nd at this class over 1300M on September 13th on which form puts him in with claims here. (2) EXCALIBUR is up in class following back-to-back runner-up finishes in contrasting styles. Both were at this distance, and the weight drop should allow him to be competitive in this company. (6) POWER BEST and (8) KARA K are the other main chances.

Yeongcheon Race 1: Class 5 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million
Weak opener at Yeongcheon. (3) TRIPLE J did nothing on his first visit here in early October but returned two weeks later to run 4th at 1300M. It wasn’t a great effort as he was beaten almost five-lengths, but he has won over this trip, and the paucity of opposition means it is enough to make him a strong favourite. Nothing else can be recommended with much confidence. (4) ROAD TO FIGHTER got a long way back from a wide draw on his first visit here on October 11th and with a better draw should go better. (2) UNIJOA similarly found himself stuck in traffic a long way back in the same race and better drawn and in this smaller field, can be more comfortable. (7) WORLD GOAT and (6) REMENT perhaps the best of a limited rest.

Seoul Race 5: Class 5 (1300M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million
(10) BEAT CODE got his maiden win back start four and hasn’t been far away in four subsequent tries at this class including a close 2nd over this distance two starts back. He has the fastest time among these for the 1300M, the wide draw shouldn’t be a problem, and he can win. (6) SPECIAL SUNSHINE was a narrow winner on debut over 1000M on October 3rd. He comes up in class and in distance but is down in weight and should have come on enough from that to be competitive. (2) CLOVER ONE enters off back-to-back runner-up finishes at this class and distance. He carries his fair share of weight but is well drawn and can be in the mix again. (9) WONDERFUL FOX and the up in class (1) POWERFUL MR. among plenty of others with at least placing chances.

Yeongcheon Race 2: Class 5 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million
This little lot have made a combined 305 (three-hundred-and-five) starts between them for a combined 7 (seven) wins so it’s tempting to go for the one that’s done the least wrong. That’s (2) POWER HIT, who has only raced six times and got his maiden win over this trip. His latest two at Busan have been underwhelming but Yeongcheon may suit and from a good draw, he can win. (3) OAK RIDGE certainly took to this track on his first visit on October 11th October 11th when 2nd, beaten a length and a half, in a quick race. He is up 3kg on that but should be competitive again. (4) BLACK WAVE hasn’t contributed to the seven mentioned above despite forty-two goes at it. He beat a couple of today’s rivals tough when 4th here on October 25th and can match or better that today. (5) STORMY DAY and (1) DONGNAM DOLPUNG other possibles.

Seoul Race 6: Class 5 (1700M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million
(1) LUCKY SUNNY was an on pace winner at this class over 1800 two starts back before finishing 5th when attempting to repeat on October 10th and having to contend with gate ten. The inside gate should be much more convenient today, and while he carries 3kg more than what he won under, he has every chance. (4) HYEOKMYEONGUIJILJU is yet to win in nineteen starts but has twelve top five finishes and comes in having run 2nd, neaten less than a length, over 1700M at this class on October 3rd. He comes in under the same light weight, draws well, and today could be the day. (11) AMOS BULPAE made a winning debut all the way back in October 2025 and hasn’t raced since. He trialed in March but didn’t make it to the track before another setback and then trialed again on October 8th. Looking well. He could be anything and is worth an each-way chance although 1700M is a hard ask first-up. (7) HAKSAN DAESE and (9) CHRYSOL STEP are other chances.

Yeongcheon Race 3: Class 2 (2000M) Handicap / KRW 90 Million
This is the first time the 2000M distance has been used at Yeongcheon. Plenty of this lot have raced over 1800M here though on October 4th and it was (2) GEUMA GUTTY who came out on top among them, racing handy throughout and finishing 2nd, four-lengths behind winner Hey Brother. He has a big weight again, but he is the one to beat. (9) HONORED KHAN was 3rd in that race, coming home from off the pace. He gets a 2kg weight swing on Geuma Gutty and while he has four-lengths to make up, the additional furlong can suit. (10) EOHWADUNGDUNG was 4th on October 4th, almost two-lengths behind Honored Khan. He too gets a slight weight break and can be competitive again. Among those who didn’t go in that race, (1) LAST DRAGON returns for the first time since May and looked well in a recent trial. (7) CATALINA MARINE is the only one of these to have won over 2000M. He is second-up following four months out and can improve.

Seoul Race 7: Class 5 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million
Competitive race. (9) MACHEON MAMA was 2nd in a quick race on debut at the end of August before winning at start number two over 1200M on October 3rd when on pace throughout. She comes up in class here but looks to have plenty of potential, and she can win again. (2) UNICORN ACE is yet to score in four but got promoted to this level after back-to-back 2nd places at 1000M and 1400M. He was a solid 3rd on his first try at this class over 1300M on October 18th when he led for much of the way and he is a big danger here. (6) B WORK was well-back on debut but ran out a five-length winner when reappearing on October 5th. He is up in class and can measure up. (8) HIGHLIGHT and (1) THE CLASSIC others who can have a say in the finish.

Yeongcheon Race 4: Class 4 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million
(6) AEGIS CROWN is a winner of three from seven including both his latest two over this distance in July and August. He comes in for the first time in thirteen weeks and is at Yeongcheon for the first time, but he should be on pace and can have too much for this field. (4) DOCTOR CITY took to Yeongcheon very well on his first visit on October 11th, racing close to the speed all the way and ultimately winning by a head. He comes up 2kg in weight but draws well to be prominent again and he could repeat. (3) PERFECT LINE is a Japanese import who began at this level and has shown progress across three starts, all at 1000M with a 3rd place on his latest on October 2nd. He can match or better that here. Veteran (1) GOLDEN, who is a Yeongcheon winner already, along with (5) DAEGIL HERO, are other place chances.

Seoul Race 8: Class 4 (1700M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million
(3) BEOLGYO ALADDIN has won three of his last five, including both his latest two over 1800M and most recently at this class on October 5th when close to the speed all the way. He is up 2kg but that’s balanced by coming into a better gate and he can make it three in a row today. (5) NAVID enters off back-to-back runner-up finishes at this class over 1800M and 1700M, both times coming from a long way back. His solitary win came at this trip and while he may find one too quick here for the third consecutive time, he shouldn’t be far away. (2) NARO MA STAR is up in class following a maiden win over 1800M on September 30th and down 3kg in weight, he can be competitive at this class. (4) POWER JILJU, who looked well in a trial two weeks ago and can be a danger. Those four look well clear of the rest. (6) EUNBIT YUHOK is perhaps the most likely of the others to be in the finish.

Yeongcheon Race 5: Class 4 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million
(8) KISS THE RAIN came to Yeongcheon for the first time and ran out a nine-length winner over this distance, leading all the way. He comes up in class and even in weight, but the manner of that victory suggests that he can go on top again today. (7) SMART SHAMAL is yet to break through in nineteen attempts, but he comes in with recent form reading well with a 2nd and two 3rd places from his last three starts, most recently at this class and distance at Yeongcheon on October 4th. He is up 2.5kg in weight but should be there or thereabouts again. (6) BORYEONGUIKWAESOK was two-and-a-half lengths ahead of Smart Shamal when 2nd in that October 4th race. He’ll be on pace and with only five starts behind him, can still improve. (4) WORLD DANCER CAT and (9) GOOGLE CAR are the other main chances.

Yeongcheon Race 6: Class 3 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million
(3) UNION CHAMP ran out the winner by a length and a quarter here on October 11th, settling handy and proving too strong with three of today’s rivals behind here. She comes up 1.5kh in weight, but she draws well, and she can repeat. (6) GREAT TOP did nothing on his first visit to this track on October 4th but returned at big odds on October 18th to win by a full nine-lengths over 1200M. He has a big weight to carry, but he has placed over 1400M before, and he warrants much more respect this time. (4) DAESEONG GOLD was 5th behind Union Champ in that October 11th race having shown on pace early. He can lead again here and be in this a long way. (1) WORLD TOP TIER completes the probable top four in the market while (9) ARION KING CAR may be the best of the rest.

Seoul Race 9: Class 3 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million
(1) QUEEN DIA has run 2nd in both her latest two, beaten three and two lengths respectively, both over a mile and most recently at this class on October 10th. She comes back to a trip over which two of her three wins have come and under a very light weight, she can win here. (3) SONGDANG HWANGTAEJA only missed out by a nose at this class and distance on October 5th, coming from well off the pace. That continued a consistent run of form and while he has a big weight that sees him give 5.5kg to Queen Dia, he could well go one better. (2) SLAM DRAGON is a two-time winner over this distance and while he didn’t do much on his return from a six-month layoff in September, he can strip fitter today and get closer. (6) EAST GANGJEOK and (8) CHUPUNGNYEONG other minor money chances.

Seoul Race 10: Class 4 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million
Fillies (and one mare) only here. (11) RAPTURE was a winner over this distance on October 4th when settling on the speed and winning by a length. She comes up in class today but also comes into restricted filly and mare company and while she has the challenge of the widest gate, Maia stays on, and she can win again. (9) CHAOS led over 1400M last time out on October 5th before weakening. She comes back to a trip that she has won over twice and placed over three times and she should be a much different prospect today. (2) UNJU TIME has been ultra-consistent recently placing in each of her last four and she should be in the finish again (7) MIGHTY LOVE, 3rd behind Unju Time at big odds last time out, can be close again while (1) JEONGWANGSEOKHWA is perhaps better than her latest effort suggests.

Seoul Race 11: Class 3 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million
(8) GWANAKSAN SKY was an also-ran in the Korean Derby but is a winner of five from seven in total, including his latest two at class 4 over 1800M and most recently at this level over a mile on October 10th. He is one for one over this trip, and he can continue to enhance his reputation here. The danger is (1) HYEUKMUSANG. A winner of three of his last four, including his latest on October 5th at this class and distance, he is up 2.5kg in weight but surely won’t be far away again. There is a big gap in form to the rest. (5) GLOBAL POWER comes back in trip today and the veteran, who has sixtdeen top three finishes to his name, is perhaps the most likely for 3rd here. (7) SONGAM SKY and (2) YONGBI TAEYANG are others who may have a say in the minors.
