The Queens’ Tour Fall/Winter series for fillies and mares kicks off on Sunday at Seoul Racecourse and the Jeju Governor’s Cup (1400M KOR-G3) is shaping up as one of the most intriguing – and trickiest – puzzles of the year so far. All the big hitters of the division are there, including the defending champion BORYEONGLIGHTQUEEN, as well as the 2023 and 2024 winner JEULGEOUNYEOLJEONG. Others who have won Queens’ Tour races in the past and take their chance include GLADIUS, who was such an impressive class 1 winner last month, as well as the evergreen RAON FOREST and Ttukseom Cup winner FANTASTIC VALUE.

Then there is the three-year-old generation, who take on their elders for the first time. All three winners on the Triple Tiara series line up. CLEARLY WINNER won the Luna Stakes before running 2^nd to CATCH RACE in the Korean Oaks. Both face off again and they are joined by Gyeonggi Governor’s Cup winner SUN RISE.

Here is a full run-down of the full field of sixteen who will go to post for race 8 at Seoul on Sunday with a local post time of 15:40:

1. SUNRISE – 4^th in the Oaks, she won the final leg of the Tiara, the Gyeonggi Governor’s Cup, over 2000M in June. 2^nd at class 3 level over a mile in her latest when closer to the pace than usual, she may not be a top line favourite here but can be a minor money chance.

2. CLUB Q – A winner of five from ten, all of them coming over this distance and at up to class 3 level. First time in elite filly and mare company today, this has been jockey Kim A-hyun’s career defining horse so far and she returns from injury to partner her. A very strong finisher, she could run into some money.

3. ONEULDO SMILE – A winner of six from twelve, two at this distance, but she struggled in the Spring/Summer series and hasn’t raced since May. She came back into work on August 20^th but didn’t offer too many clues in a trial at the start of this month. Others favoured but should be on the early pace.

4. RAON FOREST – Six-length winner of the Listed Donga Ilbo Trophy over 1800M to kick off the Spring/Summer leg of this series and a constant at the top end of the division for three years now. 3^rd in the Ttukseom and midfield from a wide draw in the KNN, she hasn’t raced since but looked well in an August trial. She settles back and can be strong late on.

5. JEULGEOUNYEOJEONG – Winner of this race in 2023 and 2024 and runner-up last year before enduring a difficult end to the season, which included bleeding. She returned from eight months out to run 4^th of eleven at class 1 level over 1200M in July and if she can strip fitter for that run, she can be a player here.

6. GLADIUS – Winner of the Donga Ilbo in 2025, she has been working back into form this term with a 2^nd place in the KNN Cup followed by an emphatic ten-length win over the class 1 boys at 1800M on August 16^th, settling midfield and running on. If she brings that form today, she may be hard to beat.

7. ACE HIGH – Rounded out the 2025 campaign with victory in the Breeders’ Cup Queen over plenty of these and was an all the way winner at class 1 over 1800M in January. Hasn’t raced since a 7^th place in the Donga Ilbo and while she looked well enough in an August trial, this is a hard ask first up.

8. FANTASTIC VALUE – The 2025 Korean Oaks winner roared back into form by winning the Ttukseom Cup in April but has only raced once since, finishing 6^th in the KNN Cup. She won a trial in a blisteringly quick time in August and Seo Seung-un picking her out of about three possibilities is a plus. If she is fit, she has a winning chance.

9. FLYING DAY – Only previous experience of Stakes racing was 7^th in the 2025 Luna Stakes but she was a class 2 winner over this distance in May. 4^th to Raon Silence’s 2^nd in July and then down the field in her latest when she was slow away. Outsider here.

10. BORYEONGLIGHTQUEEN – Thrilling winner of this race a year ago when coming from well back to pick off Jeulgeounyeojeong and Gladius. 2^nd in both the Donga and Ttukseom and then 4^th in the KNN. She likes to get right back and then run on but often leaves herself too much to do. If she can get within striking distance, a repeat is possible.

11. CATCH RACE – 3^rd in the Luna Stakes, she won the Korean Oaks and was 2^nd in the Gyeonggi Governor’s giving her the best resume of a three-year-old filly. Burnished her credentials with a class 3 victory over a mile on August 9^th, she has plenty of potential and while this is her toughest test, she can be in the mix from the front.

12. CLEARLY WINNER – Won the Luna Stakes and was 2^nd in the Korean Oaks before a mix-up saw her miss the final leg of the Tiara. A stable change followed and she was very goof class 3 winner over this distance on August 28^th. She makes a quick return here and with a record of five from seven, tactically versatile, and plenty of potential, she is a big chance.

13. RAON SILENCE – A four-year-old who has come up under the radar slightly. She is a three-time winner this year, twice over this distance and most recently over 1200M at class 2 level in a lightning quick time on August 23^rd. Goes best when leading so draw not ideal and this is a big test, but she can be a factor.

14. BANG BANG BANG – Makes her first start for sixty-one weeks when she won at class 2 level over 1800M. She was 5^th in last year’s Donga and 2^nd in the KNN Cup, coming from off the pace. She then injured her suspensory ligament. She has been back in training since June and won an August trial by eleven-lengths, but this is obviously a hard ask first up.

15. TIGER ROAR – 3^rd in both the Oaks and the Gyeonggi Governor’s from off the pace, she was then 2^nd and 3^rd in two class 3 tries at a mile, both times racing on the speed. A winner of just one from thirteen but with eight further placings, she may not be a winning chance but can compete for the minors.

16. YEOSU SUPER STAR – 3^rd in the KNN Cup at big odds, she has since finished 5^th twice over 2000M at class 2 level. Likes to race on pace so the draw is a challenge and her recent efforts ave all been at further, even if she did kick off her career with a couple of sprint victories. Solid competitor, but others favoured.
