Saturday’s racing is at Seoul with 10 races from 10:35 to 18:00. Here are the previews:

Seoul Race 1: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million
(11) SLING STAR ran a very close 2nd on debut over this distance on April 27th, racing on pace throughout. He should have come on for that run and while he has the challenge of the wide gate, he can win and he should have a fitness edge on his main rivals. (2) SMART A ONE has a 3rd and a 2nd from two starts so far, last time out leading for much of the way before being taken down by Ginshari Boy late. She was lame after that but has ten trackwork sessions in her and can go well first up. (6) NAOL HUNTER was an improved 3rd at start tow back in February, racing handy throughout. He too went lame after but has been back in regular work for almost a month. (10) VICAR DRAGON and (7) MONEY FOUR SEASON are others to consider for improvement.
| Selections | (11) Sling Star (2) Smart A One (6) Naol Hunter (10) Vicar Dragon |
| Next Best | 7, 1 |
| Fast Start | 2, 5, 6, 11 |
Seoul Race 2: Class 6 (1400M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million
Fillies only in this maiden. Plenty of these raced one another on April 25th and it was (8) GOOD FRIEND who came out the best of them, coming from well off the pace. That was her best finish to date, and it’s enough to put her on top to go one better here. (1) LADY FOX has had a stop start to her career and while she has a 2nd, and a 3rd on her record, she didn’t do much in two efforts around the turn of the year when returning from six months out. She now returns from an almost five-month layoff, but she looked very well in two recent trials and if she brings that form to the races, she can be a danger. (9) GIDAEHARA and (10) WIND STORM were among those behind Good Friend on April 25th and can get closer this time. (3) POETIC NUBI another in the hunt.
| Selections | (8) Good Friend (1) Lady Fox (9) Gidaehara (10) Wind Storm |
| Next Best | 3, 7 |
| Fast Start | 4, 5, 6, 9 |
Seoul Race 3: Class 6 (1300M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million
Competitive race. (9) BULGEUNTAEYANG ran a solid 4th on debut over 1200M on March 19th, overcoming a slow start to run on. He should have derived benefit from that and with some natural improvement, has as good a chance as any here. (1) LASER RUN picked up on his latest when 4th at 1200M. He similarly was away slowly but coming into a much better gate today can be on pace and can be in this a long way. (7) SAINT WINNER enters off a useful 3rd place at start number four over 1200M on April 27th and can be there or thereabouts again. (4) MALSGO has the fastest time among those who have previously tackled the 1300M and that’s enough to have him in the numbers. (3) GEOSEN JIJON the other logical contender based on her last start.
| Selections | (9) Bulgeuntaeyang (1) Laser Run (7) Saint Winner (4) Malsgo |
| Next Best | 3, 6 |
| Fast Start | 1, 3, 4, 7 |
Seoul Race 4: Class 5 (1300M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million
(6) FUNNY TAP got her maiden win at start two last October in an all-filly maiden over 1200M, showing on pace throughout. She then had a chip removed but has been back in regular work since the beginning of April and she looked very well when 3rd in a trial at the end of that month. Moon Se-young is on and she can make a winning return. (7) SOLAIRE is three starts into a comeback following five months out. He’s made good progress across those three, culminating in 2nd place at this distance last time out on April 20th and can go close again here. (8) RAON NIZHINSKII’s latest couple have only been fair but he did get his sole win so far at this distance and can be in the mix. (5) DANCING GANGJA and (3) GREEN CONCORD are others to consider, the latter being forgiven for his bad start last time.
| Selections | (6) Funny Tap (7) Solaire (8) Raon Nizhinskii (5) Dancing Gangja |
| Next Best | 3, 9 |
| Fast Start | 2, 3, 5, 6 |
Seoul Race 5: Class 5 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million
(8) NO PROBLEM did nothing on debut last December but returned, gelded, on April 26th and promptly won well over 1200M. He comes up in class here, but the manner of that win suggests there is more to come, and he can win again. (7) UEOKSURO was an eye-catching winner on debut on April 19th leading all the way and scoring by as many as she pleased. She too can come up in class today with plenty of confidence. (6) ROYAL PLUS was a class and distance winner two starts back and then beat a couple of today’s rivals when 3rd, again at this class and distance, on April 20th, and she can be a threat here. (5) MENI SHARK and (4) WONPYEONG GANGJA are the other leading contenders.
| Selections | (8) No Problem (7) Ueoksuro (6) Royal Plus (5) Meni Shark |
| Next Best | 4, 9 |
| Fast Start | 2, 3, 6, 7 |
Seoul Race 6: Class 4 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million
(8) DRAGON KINGDOM is a winner of three from four so far with his latest being an all the way win at this class and distance on April 20th. He comes up a full 5kg in weight but regardless, he should have too much for this small field. (7) FLYING OAKS remains a maiden, but she has two 3rd places at this class both over 1200M. The step up in trip can suit and she shapes as the main danger. (4) GANGCHEOL YEOGEOL carries a very light weight and while it is a long time since her only win, this is the kind of race in which she can pick up some prize money. (3) POWER ETCHED and (5) GEUMAK MYEONGJANG are others who, despite recent form being cold, can be in line for the minors in this limited company.
| Selections | (8) Dragon Kingdom (7) Flying Oaks (4) Gangcheol Yeogeol (3) Power Etched |
| Next Best | 5, 1 |
| Fast Start | 1, 6, 7, 8 |
Seoul Race 7: Class 4 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million
(2) CHANG CHANG SOCKS was a class and distance winner in January and has maintained his form with a 4th, 2nd and a 3rd in three subsequent outings. He likes to settle back and run on and while he has his fair share of weight to contend with, he should be too strong for this lot. (8) BOLLIN is also a winner at this class. He comes back in trip following recent efforts at 1800M and with an apprentice taking the edge off his weight, he shapes as the main danger. (5) GEOSEON POKJU is up in class following a win over 1200M on April 6th. He is up in distance for the first time, but his running style suggests that it can suit and under a light weight, he can measure up. (1) TOUCH CHARM and (3) BLUE NELLO other place chances.
| Selections | (2) Chang Chang Socks (8) Bollin (5) Geosen Pokju (1) Touch Charm |
| Next Best | 3, 4 |
| Fast Start | 1, 5, 6, 8 |
Seoul Race 8: Class 4 (1600M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million
Tricky one but we’ll take a chance on (4) LEGENDSUN. It’s been a long time since his only win, but his recent form reads well with a 4th, a 3rd, and a 5th from his latest three. He has only tackled the mile once before, but he draws nicely to lead here and under a light weight, it can be his day. (5) YONGBI TAEYANG mixes his form but was a good winner over 1300M two starts back before stepping up to 1700M and running a fair 5th on his first try at this class on April 27th. He too can be on pace and can be closer today. He will need to overturn the form on (7) HANGANG GLORY, who was 2nd in that April 27th race having led for much of the way around. He has been getting closer across his latest few and shouldn’t be far away again. (3) REMEMBER AGAIN and (2) AUSTIN LEADER other place chances among a small but competitive field.
| Selections | (4) Legendsun (5) Yongbi Taeyang (7) Hangang Glory (3) Remember Again |
| Next Best | 2, 6 |
| Fast Start | 2, 3, 4, 5 |
Seoul Race 9: Class 4 (1700M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million
Fillies and mares only here. (2) BLUE PIORA is yet to win but has finished no worse than 4th in her five starts so far class with her latest being 3rd place at 1800M on her first spin around two turns back in February. She comes in fresh after thirteen weeks off, she draws well, and she can win. (5) BLAMING WAR was a winner at this class in a similar filly and mare race over 1800M on April 26th, coming from well off the pace. She only comes up slightly in weight and a repeat would be no surprise. (6) BIG SMART was 2nd in that April 26th race at big odds. She is third-up this preparation and could be peaking fitness wise. (7) HERO LEGEND and (3) BIG BLED other placing chances.
| Selections | (2) Blue Piora (5) Blaming War (6) Big Smart (7) Hero Legend |
| Next Best | 3, 4 |
| Fast Start | 1, 2, 3, 8 |
Seoul Race 10: Class 2 (2000M) Handicap / KRW 90 Million
(4) MAGIC POTION has won his latest three in fine order, leading all the way in each of them, most recently over 1800M on April 19th. He comes up in class as well as up to 2000M for the first time, but neither should be a problem, and he can continue on his merry way here. (1) LUCKY PARTY enters off a runner-up finish at this class over 1800M on March 29th when on pace and beating three of today’s rivals. He is up 2.5kg in weight, but that’s balanced somewhat by a better draw, and he can be in this a long way. (3) MAGLE DAY and (6) ACE GUNJU come sin having run 2nd and 3rd respectively when they raced each other at this class and distance on April 19th and both can be in the mix again. (10) SMART CLAIR another in the placing frame.
| Selections | (4) Magic Potion (1) Lucky Party (3) Magle Day (6) Ace Gunju |
| Next Best | 10, 7 |
| Fast Start | 1, 2, 4, 9 |
