Seoul is the only racecourse hosting live racing on Sunday with a 15-race daytime program from 11:35 to 19:00. Here are the previews:

Seoul Race 1: Class 6 (1000M) Special Weight A / KRW 60 Million
Juvenile maidens in the opener with five of the eleven racing for the first time. We’ll side with experience and (8) MIRACLE HANGANG, who ran a solid 2nd on debut over this distance on July 2nd, leading for much of the way, only to be left behind by a good winner in the closing stages. He’ll be on pace again and has every chance of going one better. (11) MORNING BOLD is the only one in the field to have raced twice. He ran 2nd on debut in June before then finishing 3rd behind Hangang Miracle in that July 2nd race having settled handy. He has a length and a quarter to make up but shouldn’t far away again. (6) GOLDEN LINE was an on-pace 3rd in a quick race on debut on July 1st. He should get to the lead again and may take some passing. Among the first-time starters, (2) NICE TIME looks the best He went through two trials clocking similar times in both and from a nice draw can go well first-up. (4) ORAEDAHAMKKE, 4th on debut, another who can improve.
| Selections | (8) Miracle Hangang (11) Morning Bold (6) Golden Line (2) Nice Time |
| Next Best | 4, 10 |
| Fast Start | 1, 6, 8, 11 |
Seoul Race 2: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 25 Million
Tricky maiden. (7) TESTA BLUE gets the verdict having run an improved 2nd over this distance on July 8th when settling just behind the speed and stopping the clock in a good time. Expect similar tactics today and she won’t need to improve much to win this. (9) MUNHAK CENTRAL has a couple of 4th places to her name most recently on June 18th when settling back and running on over this distance. She has run fair times so far and still has some scope for improvement. (4) WINNER JERIN ran 2nd in a trial and was then a creditable enough 5th of nine on debut on July 2nd when racing handy. He should have derived benefit from that experience and can get closer here. (11) NEMO SPIRIT and (1) MISTER STAR, the latter returning ten months after his inauspicious debut but looking much more promising in a June trial, are others to consider.
| Selections | (7) Testa Blue (9) Munhak Central (4) Winner Jerin (11) Nemo Spirit |
| Next Best | 1, 6 |
| Fast Start | 1, 3, 4, 10 |
Seoul Race 3: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 25 Million
Fillies (and one mare) only in this maiden. Nothing especially jumps out so without much confidence we’ll go with (9) SHOOT UP SPARK, who has at least been consistent across ten starts so far, picking up four 5th place finishes. She has run some fair times and facing weaker than usual company, she has as good a chance as any. In an indication of just how weak, (11) CLASS HEEMANG hasn’t raced since a middling debut a full fifty-six weeks ago. She may even start as favourite here though following two very positive trials on consecutive weeks in July where she finished 2nd and 3rd, both in good times. That double trialling should ensure that despite the layoff she arrives race fit, and she couldn’t hope for a softer race to return in. (7) SESANG APERUO showed on pace in her second of two starts so far and that’s enough to put her in the frame here. (3) RAON JUMP and (6) WONPYEONG LIST others who could compete for the minors.
| Selections | (9) Shoot Up Spark (11) Class Heemang (7) Sesang Apeuro (3) Raon Jump |
| Next Best | 6, 10 |
| Fast Start | 4, 7, 9, 10 |
Seoul Race 4: Class 6 (1300M) Special Weight A / KRW 25 Million
(2) WINNER DRAGON gets the nod here based on his last start 2nd place when he came from off the pace to get close over 1200M on June 11th. He draws well here, carries the same weight and it looks as though he has finally figured things out. (11) VELVETY has steadily improved across three starts so far culminating in a 4th place at 1200M on July 8th. She has the challenge of the widest gate but there isn’t much in the way of early speed here and with a bit of luck, she may well get a forward position and can be on this a long way. The additional half-furlong can suit. (1) ONE SPEAR and (8) FOUR ACE came home 2nd and 4th respectively when they raced each other over this distance on July 1st. The former has raced once – disappointingly – since then but comes into a better gate today and both can challenge. (5) MAGUMA another placing chance.
| Selections | (2) Winner Dragon (11) Velvety (1) One Spear (8) Four Ace |
| Next Best | 5, 3 |
| Fast Start | 4, 8, 10, 11 |
Seoul Race 5: Class 6 (1400M) Special Weight A / KRW 25 Million
Wide open maiden. At a potential each-way price we’re happy to take a chance on (1) GEUMA STEADY. After an ordinary debut, she was a much-improved 2nd at start number two on July 2nd when racing handy throughout, albeit beaten by a good winner. She draws nicely to do similar here and has as good a chance as any. (8) PURPLE SHINHWA began his career with three consecutive 5th place finishes before improving to 2nd when stepped up to this trip on July 8th and racing on pace. The time wasn’t quick, but he had a couple of today’s rivals behind him, and he will be expected to get to the front again. (7) JECHUK ILHO was 3rd in that July 8th race having shared the early lead with Purple Shinhwa. That was a big uptick in form, and he can maintain that momentum today. (10) BUTTER K and (6) COLITAS others firmly in the hunt in a race of many chances.
| Selections | (1) Geuma Steady (8) Purple Shinhwa (7) Jechuk Ilho (10) Butter K |
| Next Best | 6, 4 |
| Fast Start | 1, 4, 7, 8 |
Seoul Race 6: Class 5 (1300M) Handicap / KRW 40 Million
Another competitive affair. (3) SAENAE KHAN has only put in one poor performance to date when badly away two starts back. He returned to form with a close 2nd in a quick time over this distance on July 1st when racing handy and he could well go one better today. (4) K N GOLDEN KING will ned a line drawn through his latest when well backed but could only managed 6th of eleven. The margins weren’t huge though and at the start prior he only went down a very narrow 2nd at class and distance. He will be on pace here and may be hard to pass. (6) PEERLESS is yet to win in seven attempts but has six top-four finishes including last time out at class and distance. She should be there or thereabouts again. (5) GEUMBIT CHEONHA and (7) SONGAM DRAGON among others in the frame.
| Selections | (3) Saenae Khan (4) K N Golden King (6) Peerless (5) Geumbit Cheonha |
| Next Best | 7, 1 |
| Fast Start | 4, 6, 8, 9 |
Seoul Race 7: Class 5 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 40 Million
David Breux is back in town following a summer break and he could be on a winner here. (1) WONDERFUL SHADOW has been working back towards another win and was 2nd last time out on July 9th, albeit well beaten by a very good winner but showing enough to suggest that win is very close. She likes to race on pace or handy and while she is up 2kg in the weights, she is the one to beat. (10) MY CENTER comes up in class having notched his maiden win at start number two over 1000M on July 1st, racing on pace throughout. The only juvenile in the race, he comes up on trip too, but he can measure up. Furkan Yuksel hasn’t exactly been supplied with the finest conveyances since arriving in Seoul last month, but the Turkish jockey finally has something to work with here in the shape of (6) YUKWAEHAN SARANG. Granted we must draw a line through her first effort at class 5 and she is still a maiden, but she has shown a nice turn of foot and she looks well in here. (11) APEX and (5) HIGH BORN ME among others who can compete for the minors.
| Selections | (1) Wonderful Shadow (10) My Center (6) Yukwaehan Sarang (11) Apex |
| Next Best | 5, 7 |
| Fast Start | 1, 2, 9, 10 |
Seoul Race 8: Class 5 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 40 Million
(9) COMPLETE STEP ran out a winner on debut over this distance on June 25th having taken up a handy position early and then run on well. She comes up in class here but is down in the weights and while she draws a touch wide, with some natural improvement from her debut, she can win again. (4) SUPREME STAR was a class and distance winner in April and while she has mixed her form since then, she looks nicely in here and from a good gate she can go close. (1) SIDAEUI MYEONGJAK remains a maiden but comes up in class here following back-to-back runner-up finishes over 1300M in his latest two. He likes to race on pace so draws well, he comes down in the weights, and he can measure up here. (3) GLOBAL PRIME and (8) MR QUALITY the other logical money chances.
| Selections | (9) Complete Step (4) Supreme Star (1) Sidaeui Myeongjak (3) Global Prime |
| Next Best | 8, 10 |
| Fast Start | 2, 4, 8, 10 |
Seoul Race 9: Class 4 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million
A winner of two from four so far, (11) HEY CUPID comes up in class having made all over 1300M on June 25th t win very comfortably in a quick time. He steps up to the 1400M for the first time too, but he should be able to cope with both and he can win again. (3) FINAL CHUKJE comes rapidly up in class having won his latest two, both at this distance, both times making all. He comes down in the weights and into a very good gate and a hat-trick isn’t out of the equation here. (1) GLOBAL MAGIC doesn’t win out of turn but has plenty of experience at this level and enters with recent form reading very well. He can be successful either on pace or dropping back and running on and can be set for another money finish here. (6) ACHIM DONGJA and (8) POWERFUL SOCKS among others in the hunt.
| Selections | (11) Hey Cupid (3) Final Chukje (1) Global Magic (6) Achim Dongja |
| Next Best | 8, 9 |
| Fast Start | 3, 8, 10, 11 |
Seoul Race 10: Class 4 (1600M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million
After three consecutive runner-up finishes, it’s about time (5) ARGO SMILE returned to the winner’s circle. He comes up in class here as well as up to the mile for the first time, but he comes down a full 4kg in the weighs and from a good central draw, he can be on pace and looks to be the one to beat. (9) ARGO TAP is from a different stable but has the same owner and he could prove one pf the principal dangers. He comes up in class and in trip following his maiden win at start ten, but it was a dominant one over 1200M. He too is significantly down in the weights, and he can measure up. (7) MONEY GARAK has plenty of experience at this level and enters with recent form reading well He is down slightly in trip today and is likely to drop in at the back of the field before finishing strongly. He’ll go close. (1) NINE EYE and (4) ADELE MUSTANG others in the minor money frame.
| Selections | (5) Argo Smile (9) Argo Tap (7) Money Garak (1) Nine Eye |
| Next Best | 4, 3 |
| Fast Start | 5, 8, 9, 10 |
Seoul Race 11: Class 4 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million
(6) CUPID WARRIOR took a couple of goes to get acquainted with this level at longer trips but since coming back down to this distance he has run 2nd in back-to-back races having led for much of the way both times. He does come up slightly in the weights, but he draws well enough, and it should be third time lucky here. (8) ULTRA SOCKS got her maiden win at this distance at class 5 level two starts back before running 4th behind Cupid Warrior on June 24th. She likes to race on pace, she carries a light weight, and she can be a big danger here with 2kg weight swing in her favour from last time. (11) PHOENIX SERVE left her jockey at the gate when favourite on July 15th. She was favourite for a reason though having been a class and distance winning in May and then following up with a 2nd place in June. She has the challenge of the widest gate here but should be in the mix. (7) MEDICI WOLF and (5) MIGHTY KICK the other contenders in a lively looking race.
| Selections | (6) Cupid Warrior (8) Ultra Socks (11) Phoenix Serve (7) Medici Wolf |
| Next Best | 5, 1 |
| Fast Start | 6, 8, 9, 11 |
Seoul Race 12: Class 4 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million
(6) ANOTHER LEVEL made all to win over 1700M on July 2nd, finally getting her maiden win at the fourteenth time of asking. She comes up in class here but is significantly down in the weights and if anything, the additional half furlong can suit even more. She can win again. (2) KING SIMBA hinted at a return to form when 4th at this class over 1700M on July 9th when settling right back before running on and beating a couple of today’s rivals in the process. Under today’s handicap conditions, he carries a light weight and can be considered for getting even closer. (9) SUPER ECTON ran 5th in that same race on July 9th continuing a string of solid performances for the veteran. He can settle behind the early speed here and run into some money. (5) SPEEDY ROOLIE and (3) GAMGOK SUNSHINE others in the frame.
| Selections | (6) Another Level (2) King Simba (9) Super Ecton (5) Speedy Rookie |
| Next Best | 3, 10 |
| Fast Start | 1, 4, 5, 6 |
Seoul Race 13: Class 1 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 110 Million
(3) COMPLETE VALUE is finally finding the sort of form that he has always threatened to. He was a wild class and distance winner in April (earning himself a requalification trial for manners) and was then more assured when griding out a repeat on June 25th, leading all the way. The presence of a couple here with very high ratings means he can carry a nice light weight and from a great draw he can lead all the way again. (5) THE GUMPU shapes as the main danger. He ran a very close 2nd to Complete Value in that June 25th race having been a class and distance winner himself in May. He comes down 3kg in the weights and is to be taken seriously again. (6) HEUK JEONSA is one of those big rate horses giving weight away. He carried this impost to a fine win two starts back in April and while he was ordinary on his only start since, he can never be ruled out. (10) LIL’ PATRON and (2) BAEKSAEK GWANGCHAE others in the hunt.
| Selections | (3) Complete Value (5) The Gumpu (6) Heuk Jeonsa (10) Lil’ Patron |
| Next Best | 2, 8 |
| Fast Start | 2, 3, 4, 5 |
Seoul Race 14: Class 3 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million
(1) RAON THE GOLD looks hard to oppose here. He made all to win at class and distance on June 25th, capping a recent run of good form, and while he comes up in the weights here, he draws nicely to get on speed again and he will be hard to get past. (3) TOUGH MAN enters off the back of two good 4th place finishes at 1400M and 1200M beating a couple of today’s rivals both times. He comes into a better gate today and should go close. (2) GUKDAE CLASS comes up in class having run out a quick winner over 1300M on June 3rd. He is significantly down in weight, comes into a good gate, and he can measure up at this level. That’s the case too with (6) SUN DRAGON and (8) B.J. STORM, both up in class following good wins at 1300M and who can be competitive.
| Selections | (1) Raon The Gold (3) Tough Man (2) Gukdae Class (6) Sun Dragon |
| Next Best | 8, 5 |
| Fast Start | 5, 6, 7, 8 |
Seoul Race 15: Class 3 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million
(3) WONDERFUL KITTY found herself a little overmatched but nevertheless acquitted herself well when sent to Busan for a crack at the KNN Cup in June. She finds herself back in much shallower waters today and at a distance at which she has run quick times. She has a strong finish on her and can settle back and prove too strong. (1) DAPHNE comes up in class following a smart win over this trip on June 24th, leading all the way. She draws very nicely, carries a very light weight, and she can measure up here. (9) CHUNJI GWANPUNG led for much of the way around at class and distance on July 8th ultimately coming home in 4th. She draws a touch wide but should be able to get forward again and can be in this a long way. (6) NEW CHEONGPA and (11) REMARKABLE others in the placing frame.
| Selections | (3) Wonderful Kitty (1) Daphne (9) Chunji Gwanpung (6) New Cheongpa |
| Next Best | 11, 2 |
| Fast Start | 1, 6, 9, 11 |
