2017 Racing Schedule

Seoul/Busan/Jeju Racing Schedule 2017

Check back each week for changes. There is racing each weekend except the weekends closest to Lunar New Year in early February and Korean Thanksgiving in September. Each course takes a one week summer break at the end of July/beginning of August and at the end of December.

Seoul Racecourse 2017 Schedule
Throughout 2017, Seoul Racecourse will race on Saturdays and Sundays with 11-12 races each day. First post time is 10:50am Saturday & 10:40am Sunday. In July and August, first post time will be later for the purposes of twilight and evening racing.

January: 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, 22 (6 days)
February: 4, 5, 11, 12, 18, 19, 25, 26 (8 days)
March: 4, 5, 11, 12, 18, 19, 25, 26 (8 days)
April: 1, 2, 8, 9, 15, 16, 22, 23, 29, 30 (10 days)
May: 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, 21, 27, 28 (8 days)
June: 3, 4, 10, 11, 17, 18, 24, 25 (8 days)
July: 1, 2, 8, 9, 15, 16, 22, 23, 29, 30 (10 days)
August: 12, 13, 19, 20, 26, 27 (6 days)
September: 2, 3, 9, 10, 16, 17, 23, 24, 30 (9 days)
October: 1, 14, 15, 21, 22, 28, 29 (7 days)
November: 4, 5, 11, 12, 18, 19, 25, 26 (8 days)
December: 2, 3, 9, 10, 16, 17, 23, 24 (8 days)

Busan Racecourse 2017 Schedule
Busan will hold races on Fridays and Sundays (except weekends when Seoul is closed when the Friday card will be moved to Saturday). There will usually be 10-12 races on Fridays with a first post time of approximately 11:40 and 6 races on Sundays with first post time approximately 12:35. From May to September, first post time will be 13:00 on Fridays and will vary on Sundays to allow for twilight and evening racing (To Be Confirmed).

February: 3, 5, 10, 11, 12, 17, 19, 24, 26 (8 days)
March: 3, 5, 10, 12, 17, 19, 24, 26, 31 (9 days)
April: 2, 7, 9, 14, 16, 21, 23, 28, 30 (9 days)
May: 5, 7, 12, 14, 19, 21, 26, 28 (8 days)
June: 2, 4, 9, 11, 16, 18, 23, 25 (9 days)
July: 2, 7, 9, 14, 16, 21, 23 (7 days)
August: 5*, 6, 11, 13, 18, 20, 25, 27 (8 days)
September: 1, 3, 8, 10, 15, 17, 22, 24, 29 (9 days)

Jeju Racecourse 2016 Schedule
Jeju will hold Pony racing cards on Fridays and Saturdays. There will be an average of 9-10 races per day with first post time approximately 11:45 on Fridays and 12:20 on Saturdays.

February: 2, 4, 10, 11, 17, 18, 24, 25 (8 days)
March: 2, 4, 10, 11, 17, 18, 24, 25, 31 (9 days)

May: 5, 6, 12, 13, 19, 20, 26, 27 (8 days)

Races are either Special (Special), Listed (L) of Korean Group (KG). Races marked “D” are only open to Korean-bred horses, races marked “F” are open to both Korean and Foreign bred.

    1. On Derby Day, the first race will be around 11:15am and the last at 6:10pm. The Derby itself will be the ninth race and will start around 5pm.

      Entry to the track is free on Derby Day. Anyone can bet and many of the automated betting machines have English language menus. There is an “Information for Foreigners” desk on the ground floor of the grandstand.

  1. Hi, I have a party of approx 25 persons. Can you tell me if you have a corporate box..if so the cost involved & is there food & alcoholic drink available for purchase.

    1. Yeah those were the days! Jeju Racecourse still has one and a “premium” lounge for overseas visitors is due to open later this year at Seoul…but I hear it’s going to be expensive!

  2. The 1st Korea Cup, The 1st Korea Sprint, The 32nd KRA Cup Classic. Are they the only races open to International contenders? How can we nominate from abroad?
